Training session on the validation of air quality forecasts in Bologna
On 31 May 2023 the FAIRMODE WG3 Training Session was held in Bologna, a training course concerning the description of the methodology for the validation of air quality forecasting models, proposed by FAIRMODE in support of air quality management in Europe.
On 31 May 2023 the FAIRMODE WG3 Training Session was held in Bologna, a training course concerning the description of the methodology for the validation of air quality forecasting models, proposed by FAIRMODE in support of air quality management in Europe. The course, which took place in hybrid mode (in presence and online, with participants from various Member States of the European Union), was organized by ENEA which represents Italy in FAIRMODE as National Contact Point and is co-leader of WG3 (Quality control indicators for AQ forecasts).
In addition to the WG3 Leaders Antonio Piersanti (SSPT-MET-INAT) and Alexandra Monteiro (University of Aveiro), the training teachers were Lina Vitali (SSPT-MET-INAT) and the two software developers Kees Cuvelier and Philippe Thunis (JRC - European Commission Joint Research Centre).
During the course, the methods of using the DELTA Tool software were shown, with guided practical applications within subgroups.
