I am an expert in integrated assessment of air pollution using meteorological and air quality data, emission inventories and projections, dispersion modelling, geographic information systems, with 18 years of experience in this field. In 2003 I joined Arianet s..r.l - Milan, where I worked on the impact assessment of new highways and urban road traffic on atmosphere. After a brief experience in Siteco Informatica s.r.l. (information systems for road cadastres of public administrations), in 2009 I joined ENEA - Atmospheric Pollution Laboratory, with a permanent position.
Currently in ENEA I work on the integrated assessment of air pollution and the effects on human health, with modelling tools. I am a part of the team managing the National Quality Model Air MINNI, in support to the Ministry of Environment for air quality policies at international (CLRTAP, Gothenburg Protocol) and European (Directive 2008/50 / EU) and Italian (Legislative Decree no 155/2010) level. Together with other colleagues of INAT, I am representative for Italy of the Forum for air quality modelling in Europe - FAIRMODE in the CLRTAP task force TFIAM. In recent projects (VIIAS; Ministry of Health; MED HISS, EU Life +) I have followed the assessment of the effects of air pollution on human health, with epidemiological risk assessment approach for quantification of mortality and the onset of disease on the Italian territory. I have experience in projects for industrial customers (ENEL, ILVA) for the self-assessment of the impact on air quality and health and in international cooperation projects for capacity building in the environmental field (Lebanon, with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
I am co-author of 11 papers on international peer-reviewed journals and 8 ENEA technical reports. I participated at international conferences as speaker (1) and co-author (15).
