Abstract

Hydrogeomorphological modeling of soil erosion in the Flumendosa river basin located in central Sardinia, Italy was performed using remote sensing and geographical information systems (GIS) techniques as support tools. The WEPP base data had been used to place relative scale of erosion over quantitative ranges of soil loss. It was predicted that overland flow erosion could occur over wide portions of the basin with variable intensity. High infiltration capacity on the upper layers and sufficient strong transport capacity was observed in the area.
